Description

This area of the IETF deals with the routing of electronic communications. Working groups include the following:

Why is this initiative significant?

The Routing Area specializes in problems relating to the path that information takes in Internet communications. As such, the area perfects one of the fundamental functions of the Internet, allowing information to reach intended recipients in an efficient, secure manner.
